Intern position available

We have a great opportunity for a college intern to work with Final Cut editing, Social Media, organizational research and if all goes well, a teaching/training role as a Media Mentor; training the Central Market Street neighborhood residents about film making .

Details:

Initially, Urbanstreet Films is seeking an intern to help cut a 3-minute trailer utilizing FCP 7. S/he will use an existing 9-minute work sample, and have access to other footage to create an upbeat, compelling trailer that engages the viewer. The trailer will be used for a crowd funding campaign on IndieGoGo and will be sent to current and potential foundations as part of a solicitation for grant funding.

Moving forward, the intern will become part of the IndieGoGo outreach team (researching potential partner groups and individuals to whom to promote the campaign and co-developing social media outreach campaigns). If successful, this may lead to expansion of duties as a Media Mentor and Trainer for community participants in the accompanying mobile application.

Compensation: Initially, this is a school credit internship. However, we are currently seeking funding for Media Mentors and some paid work is possible based on performance.

Workspace: Intern should plan to use a combination of school facilities and the home offices of the producer/directors. Access to Final Cut Pro 7 is required for this project, and will be available at the home offices.

Qualifications: Ideal candidate must be a college junior or senior, eligible for school credit and be available for a minimum of 10 hours per week. S/he should possess intermediate/advanced knowledge of Final Cut Pro 7 and creativity plus enthusiasm for the project. Additional skills, though not required, would be animation experience, internet research, graphic design and/or teaching/training experience.
